Dermatrust was founded in 1992 by dermatologists working at the Royal Free Hospital in London. These founding doctors identified an urgent need to find answers, which would explain why their patients had skin diseases such as severe eczema and skin cancer. The trust was set up to support research which would find answers to these questions and enable the development of improved treatments and outcomes for patients and fellow sufferers.
Since it was founded, Dermatrust has funded groundbreaking scientific research, which has been internationally recognised and awarded.
